Encouragement Groups
In addition to these studies, the elders also divide the congre- gation up into some smaller groups each year. These “encouragement groups” meet in one another’s homes to socialize, share a short devo- tional, and consider ways to “stir one another up to love and good works.” Often, cards of encouragement are written to the sick, weak, and discouraged. This regular focus on “encouragement” helps us make time for this vital work (Romans 12:8; Hebrews 3:13; 10:24-25).
